Sports have evolved from being merely a co-curricular activity to a serious career pursuit. Each year, a remarkable number of young athletes undergo intensive training programs that are physically demanding. In the face of these rigorous challenges, understanding proper nutrition and recovery guidance becomes not only essential for the athletes but also for their parents and trainers.

Our “Urja” campaign prioritizes athletes’ nutrition by promoting awareness in government schools, emphasizing the importance of proper dietary practices.

India is experiencing a fitness revolution. People, particularly in urban areas, aspire to lead active, healthy lifestyles. Access to the internet, technology, and the increasing availability of fitness apps have led to greater participation across diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Additionally, fitness enthusiasts are increasingly interested in health and nutrition products that can aid in achieving their fitness goals. With busier lives, people seek quick results, yet internet solutions often offer generic advice that doesn’t cater to individual needs and goals. Access to accurate information on nutrition, coupled with a balanced diet, is highly sought after but not always readily available despite the abundance of online resources.

Initiatives like Khelo India and the Fit India Movement are gaining momentum, underscoring the need for active engagement in discussions about nutrition. Whether it’s an aspiring athlete or a seasoned professional, ensuring that Indian athletes receive quality nutrition is crucial to enhancing their ability to compete on the international stage. While talent, discipline, and passion are undoubtedly prerequisites for greatness, having access to proper coaching, infrastructure, and nutrition is equally vital for a level playing field.

The significance of nutrition in sports performance, especially for young athletes, cannot be overstated. It not only impacts their performance but also offers opportunities for optimal growth and development. Young athletes need to understand the importance of consuming the right balance of macronutrients, micronutrients, and fluids to optimize their performance, both before and after physical activity.

Through our “Urja” campaign, we aim to conduct sports nutrition awareness sessions for budding athletes at government schools, equipping them with the most effective ways to enhance their fitness levels.
