Many seasoned professionals, with decades of work experience, often lament their inability to leave a lasting mark in their careers due to inadequate career advice and a lack of essential career management skills. It’s not entirely their fault, as they often succumbed to short-term trends during their youth. In today’s information age, it’s disheartening to see young individuals repeating the same mistakes due to a lack of awareness about the long-term consequences of their choices.

Alma Mater’s “Vidya” campaign empowers youth with informed career choices and valuable mentorship, leading them toward achieving success in their professional journeys.

At Alma Mater, we’re committed to breaking this cycle for our youth. We aim to inspire them to view the acquisition of knowledge as a valuable pursuit in its own right, especially when it comes to making informed career choices that align with their skills, aptitude, and life goals.

In the ever-changing job market, staying aware of emerging trends is essential. Parents may try to influence their children based on their own career aspirations, but it’s crucial to recognize each child’s uniqueness and provide individualized career guidance. The employment landscape has grown complex, with employers seeking a combination of technical and soft skills. The jobs of the future may not even exist yet. So, how can we inspire our youth to choose the right path?

Through our campaign “Vidya,” we offer mentorship to young minds, motivating, guiding, and supporting them. Our aim is to reach secondary and higher secondary school students in all 1,022,386 government schools in India, ensuring they have the knowledge and support they need to make informed career decisions and thrive in a dynamic job market.

As a part of this campaign, we will render five points approach for mentorship –

  • Career awareness
  • Motivation
  • Self-awareness and Emotional Literacy
  • Resources
  • Implementation Strategy
